$The South Memphis pit where rib tips are the whole religion

“A Loeb's-lineage pit serving one sandwich for 50 years”
Three Little Pigs Bar-B-Q opened as a Loeb's pit in 1968 and has held the corner of Quince and White Station ever since, making it one of the last surviving links to that formative Memphis barbecue chain. It is classic mustard-slaw, chopped-pork-sandwich territory, a true neighborhood institution rather than a tourist stop. The signature is the chopped pork sandwich, hand-chopped shoulder crowned with a tangy mustard-based slaw that sets it apart from the mayo-slaw crowd. Ribs come off the pit dry-rubbed, and sides like slow BBQ beans and slaw round out the plate. New owners took over in 2022 and kept the recipes and counter-service rhythm intact, which is why the sandwich still tastes like it did half a century ago. This is East Memphis history you can still order at lunch.
One of the last surviving Loeb's-lineage pits, serving the same mustard-slaw chopped pork sandwich for over half a century. New owners kept the 1968 recipes intact at Quince and White Station.

Three Little Pigs Bar-B-Q is budget-friendly ($).
Three Little Pigs Bar-B-Q serves Memphis Style barbecue — Memphis BBQ is rib country. The great debate is wet vs. dry: dry ribs are coated in a paprika-heavy spice rub and served without sauce, while wet ribs are glazed with a tomato-vinegar based sauce. Memphis also claims BBQ spaghetti and the BBQ nachos.
Three Little Pigs Bar-B-Q has been serving Memphis barbecue since 1968.
